Our purpose
Interest in ESG is growing internationally and at home. Once an admirable aspiration, it is now seen by an increasing number of investors, financial institutions, and large international organizations as a key strategic commitment to success. B.C.’s reputation for environmental protection, social support and democratic governance is an important economic advantage that allows the province to stand out in the global economy.
The StrongerBC Economic Plan recognizes the need to support businesses in the province in this area—and as a result, the Province has mandated the establishment of an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Centre of Excellence.
Our overview
The ESG Centre of Excellence will support trade, investment and economic development in the province through championing ESG. The Centre will work with B.C. businesses and entrepreneurs to develop and promote environmentally friendly and socially responsible goods and services to local, domestic and global markets.
We are a centralized hub for small, medium and large businesses in B.C. looking to start on or strengthen their ESG focus. We offer client advisory services at no cost, providing you with key supports for your business.
Our mandate
The new Centre will facilitate ESG investments in B.C., attract socially and environmentally conscious investors, and diversify markets for B.C.’s world-class goods and services under a respected and trustworthy ESG brand.
